The Best Country Music Festivals – Part 2
We continue our journey across America to discover the very best country music festivals that exist today. In part one we traveled to Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina and continue our musical exploration in Mexico.
Crash My Playa – Riviera Mayo
Perhaps not somewhere that you would readily associate with country music, but what could be a better location for a music festival than the tropical and sunny Caribbean? This festival was put together by Luke Bryan and he knew exactly what he was doing when he had the brilliant idea. Bryan is one of today’s country megastars, and he headlines two of the dates on the five-day festival in the marvelous tropical resort in Mexico. The 2018 lineup is scheduled to feature Dustin Lynch, Sam Hunt, Brett Young, Maren Morris and Blake Shelton.
Faster Horses – Brooklyn
Down in Brooklyn, Michigan is one of the best parties of the country music calendar, and it is all American fun at its most patriotic. As well as a star-studded line up of the best country acts in the USA, there are plenty of other attractions to keep festival goers entertained. As you would expect, there is plenty of line dancing going on, together with a giant ferris wheel and an arcade. Many festival fans decide to camp on site, and it is a common occurrence at Faster Horses for big stars to hang out on the site with their fans.
Country 500 – Daytona
Just like peas and carrots, country music and motor cars go together perfectly. The Country 500 is the ideal music festival to go along with NASCAR racing and the festival takes place at the famous Daytona International Speedway. This music festival is mega in every sense of the word and fans can camp out on the infield of the speedway. 2018 will see this fledgling festival in its third year and artists billed are Dierks Bentley, Billy Currinton, and Chris Stapleton.
Boots & Hearts – Ontario
There is another country in North America’s continent, and for those that are not familiar with the Canadian country music scene, you may be surprised to hear that it is absolutely booming. The Boots & Hearts festival is now heading into its sixth year and is getting bigger and bolder as it continues to attract large stars on the country circuit. Thomas Rhett, Dallas Smith and Florida Georgia Line are listed to appear in 2018.
Watershed – George
Our final music festival takes us to George and the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. The brilliant George Amphitheater overlooks the great Columbia River, and this sets the tone for a spectacular country festival. Watershed first opened its doors back in 2012 and has become a true country pilgrimage for music fans across America. The venue is greatly desired and wouldn’t disappoint during any festival, and the remoteness of Watershed adds to whole event. There is not even a hotel or hostel to be seen in any direction for almost an hour’s drive, so be sure to take your tent with you.
This festival is the perfect place to end our celebration of the best country music festivals in North America. The events listed are some of the most popular in the USA and have brought countless hours of great entertainment to country fans all over the country.
